The year 2025 marks a period of significant fluctuations yet strong resilience for Vietnam’s textile and garmentindustry. Throughout the 6th term, the industry has collectively overcome global challenges, achieved an im-pressive recovery, and created a “new landscape” defined by greener production, more modern management, ahigher-quality workforce, and a stronger position in global value chains.This Special Edition of VITAS is published on the occasion of the Annual Conference and the 7th Congress, themed “Strategies for Developing Vietnam’s Textile and Garment Industry in a Volatile Environment.” The publicationreflects five years of continuous effort by enterprises and aims to inspire innovation as the industry steps into the2025–2030 period with readiness and confidence.
Global Cotton Market – January 2026
The January 2026 economic bulletin from Cotton Incorporated indicates relative stability in New York cotton futures prices and the A Index, while cotton prices in major consuming markets such as China and India recorded notable increases.

The document is the standards and safety assessment methods of LABS currently available in Vietnam. The standard is applied to garment, footwear, handbag and accessory factories in the LABS program, aiming to address the risks and safety hazards for textile and footwear factory buildings. VITAS SPECIAL EDITION 2025: “Strategies for Developing Vietnam’s Textile and Garment Industry in a Volatile Environment”
The year 2025 marks a period of significant fluctuations yet strong resilience for Vietnam’s textile and garmentindustry. Throughout the 6th term, the industry has collectively overcome global challenges, achieved an im-pressive recovery, and created a “new landscape” defined by greener production, more modern management, ahigher-quality workforce, and a stronger position in global value chains.This Special Edition of VITAS is published on the occasion of the Annual Conference and the 7th Congress, themed “Strategies for Developing Vietnam’s Textile and Garment Industry in a Volatile Environment.” The publicationreflects five years of continuous effort by enterprises and aims to inspire innovation as the industry steps into the2025–2030 period with readiness and confidence.

Conversely imports of raw materials supporting production over eleven months reached 23.093 billion USD rising slightly 0.9 percent reflecting stable production demand of enterprises. Several items recorded growth such as fibers yarns and accessories while raw cotton continued a downward trend.

November 2025 recorded mixed fluctuations of Vietnam textile garment import export activities amid a global market continuing fragmentation. Textile garment export turnover was estimated at 3.418 billion USD declining 8.1 percent from previous month and decreasing 5.0 percent over the same period 2024. Nevertheless cumulative eleven months of 2025 still achieved positive growth with total export turnover estimated 41.7 billion USD increasing 5.3 percent over the same period last year. Several product groups maintained growth momentum including garments fabrics and accessories alongside declines of fibers yarns and nonwoven fabrics.

In October 2025, Vietnam’s textile and garment industry continued to face challenges as orders showed signs of slowing and demand in key markets remained unstable. Total export turnover is estimated at USD 3.73 billion, down 1.9% compared to September and 2.2% year-on-year. However, cumulatively over the first 10 months, total industry exports reached USD 38.33 billion, up 6.3% compared to the same period in 2024, reflecting Vietnamese businesses’ resilience and adaptability.

During the month, enterprises focused on the year-end order season, actively engaged in trade promotion and international cooperation, and prepared for major industry events in Q4/2025.

On September 7, 2023, in HCM City, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) and the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) jointly organized the "Vietnam - Taiwan Textile Cooperation Forum"  2023 to enhance in-depth cooperation, expand investment opportunities for Vietnamese and Taiwanese textile & Garment enterprises.
