Initiated in 2008, TASCC is organized on annual basis by CNTAC. Through its 11 Conferences at 11 different locations in China, this marks the first time for TASCC to be organized in Vietnam. The Conference offers an international exchange foundation with commitment to developing textile brands and supply chain management. Through its 11 occurrences, the Conference has attracted 4117 attendees from textile brands and those of interests. The Conference has become an intellectual gala in the textile industry.
The theme of 2019 Conference in Vietnam sets on Sustainable and Integrated Development – towards greening textile industry and solutions to global challenges.
The conference was attended by many senior leaders in the textile and garment industries such as Top leaders of CNTAC President Sun Ruizhe, two Vice Presidents Chen Da Peng and Yang Ji Chao; Leaders of VITAS: Mr. Vu Duc Giang – Chairman, Mr. Truong Van Cam - Vice Chairman cum General Secretary: Mr. Le Tien Truong - Vice Chairman of VITAS and General Director of Vietnam Textile and Garment Group (VINATEX), Mr. Li Jianliang - Chinese Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mrs. Bui Hoang Yen - Deputy Chief Representative, Department of Trade Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Mr. Christian P. Schindler - General Director of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation(ITMF), Mr. Jumnong Nawasmittawong - Vice Chairman of the ASEAN Federation of Textile Industries (AFTEX), speakers and representatives of international organizations such as the World Bank, WWF, German Development Agency, Fair Wear Foundation, National Textile Associations such as Taiwan Textile Federation -TTF, Thailand National Federations of Textile Industry, NFTTI, Korea Institute of Industrial Technology- KITECH, Cotton Council International CCI as well as brands, manufacturers, brands, domestic and FDI enterprises/ experts from China, Vietnam and international.
TASCC 2019 Summit offered an opportunity for garment factories, suppliers of fabrics and raw materials, at the same time, update information on markets, trends, potentials, solutions of global supply chains as well as build an effective platform for negotiating and cooperation among China, Vietnam and Asian countries and global textile chain.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Sun Ruizhe - Chairman of CNTAC said that China's textile and garment industry holds the world No. 1 position with export turnover of USD 250 billion / year, creating jobs for more than 200 million people. To expand the belt of textile supply chains, China has invested abroad in which Vietnam is the most important investment market. The textile and garment trade relations between Vietnam and China complement each other and make important contributions to each country's economy.
Mr. Sun Ruizhe trusted TASCC 2019- HCM Summit will promote cooperation between the two countries' textile enterprises to promote their strengths, continue to expand, enhance their position, increase competitiveness, enhance the responsibility for environmental protection, together sustainable development and integration into the world economy.
At the conference, Mr. Vu Duc Giang, Chairman of Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association extends his remarks on “Journey towards the sustainability of Vietnam's textile and garment industry”: Vietnam has committed to fully implementing 17 sustainable development goals set forth in the Global Agenda 2030. Accordingly, important objectives all aim towards developing the country to ensure harmonization of socioeconomic and environmental benefits. Fulfilling shared responsibility and response to the 21st century's biggest global challenges, the textile and apparel industry will be no exception. Given the current integration and globalization trend, Vietnam has joined many free trade agreements, etc. whereby traditional tariff barriers will be gradually eliminated, instead countries will tend to introduce many technical barriers on product quality, environmental standards, energy labels, carbon labels, etc. to protect their domestic production. Thus, the textile industry should follow this trend.

Speaking about the role of national associations in building a global textile supply chain, Mr. Le Tien Truong - Vice Chairman of VITAS / General Director of VINATEX said, Vietnam now buys 45% of fabric from China, Although the Vietnam imported a huge amount of fabric from China but mainly according to the designation of raw materials from brands/buyer ..., this relationship only stopped at the customer relationship - the manufacturer passed the contract but not yet is a link in a supply chain. Therefore, Chinese fabric manufacturers and garment enterprises in Vietnam need to come to agreements to develop package products with importers, aiming to form a real supply chain, forming war benefits. Strategy between raw material producers and garment enterprises, avoiding dumping and price squeeze at every stage of the supply chain, bringing long-term harmonious benefits to all members in supply chain.

At the Conference, there will be more than 10 sessions with presentations from domestic and foreign experts, focusing on such issues as “Globalization of the textile supply chain and sustainable development trend in textile industry”, “How to develop green textile supply chain”, “The role of international associations in connecting global textile supply chain”, “Regional cooperation and responsible investment in textile industry”, “Greening the textile supply chain through action - world experience to national actions”, “Integrating supply chain resources to meet global customer demand”, etc.
