At the invitation of the Office of Agricultural Affairs of the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Vu Duc Giang, VITAS Chairman, along with leaders of Phong Phu Corporation (PPC), attended a courtesy visit with USDA Under Secretary - Luke Lindberg and the U.S. delegation at the PPC’s headquarters on the afternoon of March 24th, 2026.

During the meeting, the U.S. delegation heard Mr. Vu Duc Giang share information about the Vietnamese textile and garment industry in 2025 and its development orientation in the coming years; watched a video introducing Phong Phu Corporation; and toured the spinning mill, the home textile and terry towel showroom, and the cotton open-air warehouse.

USDA and Under Secretary Lindberg recognize and appreciate Vietnam’s role as the number one export market for U.S. cotton in 2025. Mr. Lindberg expressed his gratitude to Phong Phu Corporation for their continued trust in and use of U.S. cotton. This courtesy visit to Phong Phu Corporation to highlight the important relationship between U.S. farmers and Vietnam’s cotton spinning sector.

The U.S. delegation's visit to Vietnam aims to expand markets, enhance export opportunities, and ensure reciprocal trade for the U.S. agricultural sector. Vietnam is currently the world's eighth-largest trading partner for the U.S., while the US is Vietnam's second-largest trading partner and largest export market. This U.S. Department of Agriculture delegation is expected to continue the growth of trade between the two countries by expanding market access and connecting suppliers with new buyers.
