Dear esteemed Business Members and partners
On the occasion of upcoming new year 2021 and welcoming the new spring of ox, on behalf of VITAS Management, I would like to extend our best New Year greetings.
In 2020, the regional and global economic situation further witnessed rapid and complicated developments, especially when Covid-19 epidemic has profoundly affected Vietnam textile and garment industry when the global supply chain saw disruption, shortfall and even stagnation and close-down.
The year 2021 will be a challenging transition year when import demand in major markets still stays uncertain, the factory is forced to flexibly adjust to small orders. At the beginning of 2021, not only did the freight charges increase dramatically, but many input costs for production also increased rapidly, putting great pressure on businesses. The good news is that on January 16, 2021, the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) did not mention, or recommend the U.S. Government impose taxes or sanctions against Vietnam's exports in the report concluding the Vietnam investigation under Section 301. This is a testament to the strength of the connection, the role of the Union in the advocacy work at home and abroad with positive results. VITAS has successfully completed its 5th term (2015-2020) and will continue to promote the strength of connection in the 6th term ahead.
Hopefully, with the efforts of the whole textile industry, we will have a prosperous 2021 with lots of good news.
Once again, I would sincerely like to thank and wish you a Lunar New Year of
HEALTH – PEACE – PROSPERITY!
