Taking place from 11–13 March 2026 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC), Shanghai, Yarn Expo Spring 2026will build on the strong momentum of the 2025 edition, reaffirming its position as a leading global platform for fibres and yarns amid the textile industry’s accelerating transition toward sustainability.

The 2025 show attracted nearly 24,000 visitors from 123 countries and regions and set a new benchmark with over 560 exhibitors, showcasing cutting-edge innovations across the sector. Notably, regenerated and recycled fibres and yarns emerged as the most sought-after product category, with 57% of buyers actively sourcing within this segment. Continuing this strong trajectory, Yarn Expo Spring 2026 is expected to further strengthen its role in driving sustainable development across the global textile value chain.

Industry commitment to sustainable innovation

Commenting on the outlook for the upcoming edition, Ms Wilmet Shea, General Manager of Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, noted:

“The strong business results and positive feedback from the previous edition clearly demonstrate the industry’s firm commitment to sustainable innovation. As we look ahead to Yarn Expo Spring 2026, we see an increasing convergence of market demand, technological advancement and environmental responsibility. The fair’s position as Asia’s leading platform for fibres and yarns has never been stronger, and we expect the 2026 edition to continue serving as a global showcase for innovative solutions that move the industry closer to a greener future.”

A rapidly expanding sustainable yarn market

According to market forecasts, the global sustainable yarn market is expected to grow significantly, with its value projected to rise from USD 5.2 billion in 2026 to approximately USD 10.1 billion by 2033, representing a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 7.6%.

This growth is being driven by rising consumer demand for environmentally friendly textiles, increasingly stringent environmental regulations, and continuous technological advancements in sustainable fibre development. Plant-based natural fibres such as cotton, linen, hemp and bamboo continue to hold the largest market share, reflecting a growing preference for renewable and biodegradable materials.

Against this backdrop of industry-wide transformation, Yarn Expo Spring 2026, held concurrently with Intertextile Apparel Fabrics and several other major textile fairs, will serve as a key networking and sourcing hub for innovators, suppliers and buyers committed to sustainable production.

Industry perspectives from the exhibition floor

Reflecting the sector’s strong focus on sustainability, Mr SM Ameer, Director of Din Industries (Pakistan), shared his experience from the 2025 edition:

“We produce a wide range of yarns, including 100% cotton, synthetic yarns and fashion yarns for both knitting and weaving. Sustainability is central to our development strategy – we work extensively with natural, regenerated and recycled fibres. At the exhibition, we met more potential customers than expected, particularly from France, Indonesia and Türkiye.”

Driving innovation and sustainable transformation

With its diverse and high-quality product offerings – spanning chemical fibres, cotton yarns, fashion yarns, linen, silk and wool – the 2026 edition will further expand its fringe programme to highlight the latest industry innovations.

Key events will include:

  • China Fibers Fashion Trends Show

  • China Fibers and Yarns Fashion Trends

  • Textile Materials Innovation Forum

  • Enterprise Product Launches

These activities will deliver in-depth insights into emerging trends, technological breakthroughs and sustainable solutions, reinforcing Yarn Expo’s role as a vital bridge for innovation in the fibres and yarns sector.

Mr Wenchao Ma, Head of R&D at Dezhou Shangkai Tex Co Ltd, commented:

“We attend Yarn Expo Spring to stay updated on the latest trends in the textile industry. Many leading companies showcased standout products such as BioFleax short fibres, and we had the opportunity to join new product launch forums. Through in-depth exchanges with other enterprises, the exhibition has helped guide our innovation and development strategy.”

A synergistic textile sourcing platform

Yarn Expo Spring is jointly organised by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd and the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Sub-Council of Textile Industry (CCPIT-Tex). The fair will be held concurrently with:
