Dear Valued Manufacturers

Across the industry, we all know the risks currently present in purchasing practices. In an effort to provide manufacturers with a platform to increase transparency on purchasing practices, promoting equal partnership for everyone in the chain, the initiative The Industry We Want (TIWW) would like to invite you to participate in the Partnership IndexTM Survey 2022, conducted by the Better Buying Institute. The feedback you submit will be completely anonymous  and  your voice will help drive industry-wide progress across the garment and footwear sector.

This is an annual survey to measure progress on industry purchasing practices. It consists of 15 questions  - available in Vietnamese or English - and will take 5 - 10 minutes to fill in for each brand partner. In 2021, the survey received over 500 responses from manufacturers in the apparel sector.

The purpose of the survey:

Insights gained and published in the report will empower manufacturers when negotiating with their brand partners. Fairer terms can be agreed on before contracts are signed and orders are accepted. In the end, the survey can help build equal partnerships between manufacturers and brands.

In February 2023 at the OECD Forum on Due Diligence in the Garment and Footwear Sector, aggregated findings will be shared alongside key developments since last year's cycle. Having two consecutive purchasing practice scores to compare allows manufacturers  to monitor changes in behaviour and to hold brands accountable.

Beyond this, the findings will be used to influence change when we share results at supplier seminars across the year in the key regions where the input was highest.

The survey is simple, short and completely anonymous. It opens from October 3 – 31, 2022

So, have your voice heard, and contribute to the change we all want to see.
