Vitas Monthly Newsletter - Volume 7/2025

In July 2025, Vietnam’s textile-garment industry posted a strong upswing, with total export turnover estimated at 4,45 billion USD, up 8,2% from June and up 21% over the same period last year. Cumulatively, the first seven months saw exports reach 26,33 billion USD, up 9% over the same period in 2024, signaling a clear recovery after a slower spell.

That momentum comes with major headwinds: intensifying competition from other producers, tougher requirements on green and sustainable standards, and volatile global economic and trade conditions, especially the newly applied 20% reciprocal tariff by the United States on goods of Vietnamese origin. This will be a crucial test of the industry’s adaptability and capacity for innovation in the period ahead.

Standing with  textile-garment businesses, VITAS brings you the latest domestic and international updates, and practical insights in Newsletter No. 07/2025:

Vitas Monthly Newsletter - Volume 6/2025

As we enter the second half of 2025, Vietnam’s textile and garment industry continues to show positive signs, with June’s export turnover estimated at USD 4.099 billion, a 7.3% increase from the previous month and an 11.4% rise year-on-year. Cumulatively, export turnover for the first six months reached USD 21.802 billion, up 10.6% compared to the same period in 2024. This growth momentum reflects a gradual recovery of global markets, as well as the relentless efforts of our business community in maintaining production, advancing technology, and transitioning towards greener, more sustainable practices to better meet the evolving demands of global supply chains.

Amid ongoing market uncertainties, the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) remains committed to supporting the business community by providing timely updates on market trends, relevant policies, and global textile developments. Our goal is to help enterprises seize opportunities, overcome challenges, and strengthen their position on the international textile map.
