IMF raises Vietnam's 2022 growth forecast to 7% due to low inflation
Vietnam’s relatively subdued inflation compared to other countries in Asia has boosted its economic outlook with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) increasing the growth forecast for the country to 7 per cent for 2022. The increase was a full percentage point from three months earlier and the only significant upward revision among major Asian economies.
Healthy demand from end user industries, and increased blending with cotton yarn due to decadal high prices of cotton, will drive revenue growth of 18-20 per cent this fiscal for polyester yarn manufacturing sector, according to capital market company CRISIL.

Vietnam’s economic recovery accelerated over the last six months on the back of resilient manufacturing and a robust rebound in services. GDP growth is forecast to surge from an estimated 2.6% in 2021 to 7.5% in 2022, while inflation is projected to average 3.8% over the year.
