The 6th Denimsandjeans exhibition has returned with the theme "Room to Roam"

12/06/2024 10:13 AM

On June 26-27, 2024 at Riverside Palace Wedding and Convention Center - 360D Ben Van Don, District 4, Ho Chi Minh City, the Denimsandjeans International Exhibition organized by Balaji Enterprises company will take place with the theme "Room to Roam".  This is the 6th time the exhibition has been held in Vietnam, specializing in denim, non denim, knitwear and sportswear supply chain.

This year's exhibition brings together major denim manufacturers from Vietnam and more than 10 countries around the world, introducing important innovations in production with a focus on developing sustainable development.

The theme of the program – Room to Roam illustrates the unique blend of baggy fit and loose denim trend! Join us on this exciting journey as we collaborate with our brilliant exhibitors from Vietnam and all over the world to bring something extraordinary to the industry. The theme suggests that there is enough ROOM for denim to evolve further. Besides, there is enough ROOM for improvement of sustainable practices as we are still at the base starting our sustainable journey. The theme also reflects the ability of DENIM to roam and percolate the various segments of the population – going deeper into the daily usages of humankind. Hence there is a huge amount of ROOM for Denim to ROAM!

In its 6th edition in Vietnam, the exhibition will again carry forward the concept of “DENIM BAZAAR” which was introduced in the 5th Edition. This is an arena where Vietnamese fashion brands display their innovative denim items, including recycled denim. This is an opportunity for visitors to enjoy and own high-quality products made by creative Vietnamese people and Denimsandjeans will allocate them a special area making it very easy for them to come and meet global minds in denim and also sell their goods to local and international visitors.

Coming to the exhibition, visitors from abroad and Vietnam will gain a deeper insight into Vietnam's denim supply services. Vietnam has been exporting over 65-70 million pieces of denim apparel annually and this quantity is expected to increase in 2024 given the huge orders that are coming to the country and with more and more investments taking place to take benefit of EVFTA . And it is important to consider that Vietnam does not do very low price products and specializes in mid to higher categories with strong sustainable credentials. Besides, the global geopolitical situation places Vietnam is a very strong position in this industry and is expected to grow at over 10% each year in the next 5-7 years. Denimsandjeans aims to use the platform to bring more focus to this status of Vietnam through its show.

On the sidelines of the exhibition there will be discussions and sharing of knowledge and perspectives from global experts - an important and indispensable part of every Denimsandjeans exhibition.
With over 30 years of experience in global denim companies like Lee, Wrangler, VF, C&A and others and currently the visiting fellow at Hong Kong Design Institute, Mr. David Tring will give a talk “Jeaneration Z - denim Trends in America - For 12-27 years age group”.
A very interesting presentation will be by Ms Tinh  who belongs to the Vietnamese Thai Ethnic minority group of Indigo dyers and alongwith Mitchell Vassi who has a long experience in the denim industry and is currently professor at the London College of Design and Fashion (Hanoi)  will jointly make a talk “Chàmpions of Indigo -the future is in the past” reflecting the importance such ethnic groups make in carrying the traditions forward.
Another important panel discussion will be focusing on denim education needs in Vietnam “Weaving a Future: connecting the Denim Industry and Education”. This panel discussion with some of the above-mentioned names and Ms. Corinna from RMIT university and a representative from MGF Group will together discuss and deliberate on the issues on finding skilled denim professionals in Vietnam.
Mr Yuzi Honzawa, who setup the denim business of Uniqlo in Japan besides many other brands, will talk on the topic “3 Fs of Leading Japanese Denim Brands” and will give valuable insights into how the major Japanese brands think and plan. He will also bring a Selvedge Denim Corner with Mr Toma which brings special selvedges from over 20 global companies.
