VITAS gives Membership Certificate to Alliance One Garment Co., Ltd

On June 3, 2022 in Ben Tre province, the group of the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS) led by Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai - Deputy General Secretary of VITAS came to work and presented the Certificate of Membership to the Alliance One Garment Co., Ltd.
At the meeting, Ms. Nathwadee Wiratphong - Deputy General Director of the Company introduced the history of formation and development of Alliance One, the difficulties and advantages in the current business operation as well as the orientations in the future.


Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyet Mai shared about the situation of Vietnam's textile and garment industry, functions, tasks and activities of VITAS. According to Ms. Mai, Vietnam's total textile and garment export turnover in 2021 has reached USD 40.45 billion, up 15.36% over the same period in 2020, the export turnover of the first 5 months of 2022 of the textile and garment industry has reached USD 18.66 billion, an increase of 23.5% over the same period in 2021. Generalizing the challenges and opportunities of Vietnam's textile and garment industry, Ms. Mai emphasized that the strategy for businesses that want to grow sustainably is "Greening Vietnam's textile and garment industry", in which digital transformation is the solution to completely change the landscape and improve the competitive position of enterprises.

The company representative said that Alliance One is an FDI enterprise with 100% Thai investment capital, established in 2007, with an address at B area, Giao Long Industrial Park, An Phuoc commune, Chau Thanh district, Ben Tre province. The company specializes in manufacturing sportswear for famous brands in the world such as: PUMA, ADIDAS, WARRIOR, NEW BALANCE, COLUMBIA..., the market is mainly in Europe, America, Asia... Currently the company has 4 factories with about 7000 workers. The company is recruiting more and it is expected that by the end of 2022, it will increase to about 8,500 workers.



Ms. Mai said that becoming a VITAS member will create conditions for businesses to participate more in events organized by VITAS, expand exchanges with customers and partners as well as strengthen cohesion in the textile & garment supply chain. Ms. Mai invited the company's leaders to attend VITAS's 2022 performance review conference, which is expected to be held in December 2022 in Ho Chi Minh City.
