The EVFTA is expected to boost trade and investment between Vietnam and the EU over the next decade as well as opening the door for Vietnam to participate more deeply in the global value chain.

Panorama of the classroom

Once this Agreement comes into effect, about 90% of tariff lines will be reduced to 0% for Vietnamese goods exported to the EU market. This is an opportunity to increase exports for Vietnam's advantageous goods such as textile, garment, footwear, agriculture and fisheries ... especially, in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, which is seriously affecting the world economy as well as Vietnam. The implementation of the EVFTA has an important meaning, helping to offset the economic slowdown. However, in order to enjoy tariff preferences, Vietnamese businesses need to meet the rules of origin of the EVFTA.
